Guantang Thermal Spring
Guantang Thermal Spring locates in the middle of Wanquan River Scenery Spot. It connects with the exit of highway loop, adjoins the Baishi Ridge to the south and the Wanquan River to the northwestern. From here, you can almost travel to every place such as the Memorial Park to the Red Women Army, Haikou (92 kilometers away), Qionghai (15 kilometers away), Boao Asia Forum (30 kilometers away), Sanya (168 kilometers away), Baishi Ridge (5 kilometers away), Wanquan River Drift (25 kilometers away). Guantang Thermal Spring entrenches on the bank of Wanquan River. As it entrenches along the shore of Wanquan River, Guantang Thermal Spring serves as a middle passage to appraise bank scenery by boat.
Guantang terrestrial heat field is in the southwestern part of Hainan province and scatters over on the south bank of Wanquan River. The whole area covers 36.5 square kilometers. Guantang thermal spring was well-known as early as the interim between Qing dynasty and the Republic of China. They ultimately drew statistics represented as follows: Guantang thermal spring daily flow rate is around 10700 square meters; Mineral water temperature ranges between 70℃-90℃ and contains a diversity of different rare elements such as metasillicio acid and fluorine and other constituents like Strontium, bromine, iodine and lithium etc. Guantang thermal spring is versatile for recuperation and medical treatment, suitable both for tourism and shower.

Thermal Spring Recuperation
The natural thermal spring in Guantang was classified the first classification by the National Mineral Resource Storage Committee. As the culture of Guantang thermal spring has cradled long long ago, several series are created such as unique ingestion therapy, innovative recreation, swimming, healthcare etc.
Guantang terrestrial heat field spreads over on the south bank of Wanquan River, which is 9 kilometers long, 1-1.7 kilometers wide and covers 13 square kilometers. And on the field, 2.5 square kilometers in total are occupied by thermal springs.
Characteristics of hot spring: Guantang thermal water is between 52.5-74℃ and contains fluorine 7.0-19.8mg/1 and metasillicio acid 33.8-126.4mg/1. Additionally, the hot water is rich in different constituents such as strontium, bromine (0.18-1.07mg/1), iodine and lithium (0.0632-0.45mg/1) and bears little hazardous substances like iron, radioactive substance. Comparing with the clinic effect of other identical hot springs, Guantang thermal spring is more conducive for health. Therefore, people utilize it in a medical way, which is in consistence with a national standard GB11615-89 Terrestrial Heat Resource Geographic Inspection Regulation.
The National Mineral Resource Storage Committee passed the 263rd Resolution on October 17 1994 that stipulates: Guantang terrestrial heat field expands as large as 365 thousand square meters; The daily exploration amount numbers up to 10700 tons and the hot water is rich in strontium, bromine, iodine and lithium; Concentration of iron is rather low; Guantang thermal spring can be utilized for medical treatment; The thermal spring in Guantang shall be considered an important mineral resource, suitable for shower and recuperation. National experts even commended it as “Rare in the World, Unique in Hainan, First in China ”. Moreover, a large open-air indoor thermal spring swimming pool in the volume of 2700 cubic meters built in the Guantang Thermal Spring Recreation Center ranks the first in China.
