Qionghai City locates in the east of Hainan Island, China. Eastern longitude is 110°27' and northern latitude 19°14'. In its eastern part, an expressway penetrates through the whole metropolis. It is 86 kilometers away from Haikou, the capital of Hainan province and 163 kilometers away from Sanya to the south.

Qionghai is aged teeming with elite. In the year of A.D.660, Lehui county was established from which the northwestern part was split off in the year of 1291 to independ as Huitong county. In the year of 1914, it was renamed Qiongdong county. In December 1958, the original Qionghai county was formed by combining Qiongdong, Lehui and Wanning.

Being guided under when people called Radiation Strategy, Qionghai is stalking along the way of urbanization.
